Carl shows how passion, professionalism, and high standards can make a real difference to children’s lives — both on and off the pitch.
Alongside running two thriving academies, Carl also works full-time at Manchester City’s Community Foundation. Balancing these roles is no small feat. Yet he consistently delivers an outstanding experience for children, families, and his coaching teams.
His sessions are about much more than football. They focus on confidence, growth, and inspiring a lifelong love for being active.
A Passion for Coaching
Carl’s journey into coaching was fuelled by his love for football. As he puts it:
“If I couldn’t play football for a career, coaching always seemed like the next best thing.”
He found his perfect fit working with young children, especially those in the Early Years Foundation Stage. Carl loves watching children learn through play. His sessions spark imagination and joy — often before the children even realise how much they’re learning.
Making a Lasting Impact
When asked about a standout moment in coaching, Carl’s answer was telling:
“It’s not one moment, but the ongoing journey—seeing children who start off shy or unfocused blossom into the heart of our sessions, following instructions, answering questions, and thriving week after week. That’s what makes me proud.”
That commitment to child development shines through in the positive feedback and progress at both of Carl’s academies.
More Than Just Football
Outside of coaching, Carl enjoys a busy and happy life with his wife Jess, their baby daughter Rosa, and their cockapoo Rico — a local celebrity among Kixx families!
Carl’s desire to make a difference doesn’t stop on the pitch. Through his work with Manchester City’s Community Foundation, he helps young people grow both personally and athletically.
Away from football, he loves playing Padel, taking Rico on adventures, and making the most of family days out.
Carl describes Kixx in three words: Fun, Inclusive, and Personal. These values shape everything he does. His sessions are vibrant, his approach celebrates individuality, and his connection with each child makes every academy a special place to grow.
