Football Lessons for Children

25th October 2022

The Kixx programme introduces children to physical exercise through playing football in a high-energy, enjoyable, and age-appropriate manner.

Boys and girls alike, from ages as little as 18 months up to 10 years old can participate in specially crafted youth training sessions provided by us. Our innovative curriculum has placed quite an emphasis on a child’s social and physical development via football.

Learn more about Kixx’s football lessons for children through this post, and even why football lessons are beneficial to children.

Our Academy Model

The youngest program we run is for children who are between 18 to 24 months which is why play is really at the core of these lessons. And it’s created by our Early Years Experts who designed it to encourage basic development in motion and motor ability.

Also run as a parent toddler group are the sessions led for 2 year olds. These active lessons are coach led and will be creative in order to capture your child’s attention, whilst also providing the best coaching and care.

At the crucial developmental stage children are in when they’re between 3 and 5 years of age, Kixx continues to provide age appropriate and developmentally structured sessions. All to encourage their physical and emotional development.

It is designed to improve many other skills, too, like communication, socialisation, and motor skills.

We’re dedicated to creating a learning environment that is stimulating and exciting, where every child feels comfortable and safe.

How Football Benefits Your Children

The benefits of exercise and sport for children’s growth and development aren’t just physical but mental, too. Every youngster should be active as it provides the foundation for growth. Unfortunately, not all children are given the opportunity or have access to programs like ours.

This is why we take serious care when designing our programs and cultivating safe environments. Its been demonstrated that engaging in aerobic exercises as toddlers can help to enhance our confidence and encourage concentration. It’s even been known to reduce anxiety.

Cognitive Development

Sporting environments are known to encourage decision-making under challenging or pressuring circumstances. Information collection and processing can only be accomplished via practise and exposure to certain scenarios.

Especially in football which will require players to consider all outcomes and choose the most appropriate action. Though football has many physical benefits, it also has multiple benefits in resilience, team work, communication, and confidence.

Children will learn how to respect others and build motivation, take constructive criticism well and manage emotional responses.

Motor Improvement

Football lessons foster growth and development for children’s motor ability and our programs reflect this. The toddler sessions we deliver are built on active play so your child will be building their balance, coordination, running, jumping, and kicking skills.

And through practice, they’ll learn how to properly control their movements. For instance, running and kicking both require different types of control. A player needs to know when to tap the ball lightly or kick hard, just as they need to know when to sprint or conserve energy for endurance.

Of course, these aspects are slightly more advanced. But just going to football sessions where children can have fun, be active, and make friends will help build a foundation that can later be developed.

Co-Ordination

Dribbling, shooting, protecting, and attacking the ball make up a massive part of this sport.

Children learning football skills has massive benefits. The skills they learn at football can be carried off the pitch and applied to other sports, too.

Developing every child through our Kixx curriculum can really help to develop the coordination of your child.

Our eyes can’t look at two different places at once completely, but we can use our peripheral vision and awareness of our environment. This helps us to develop coordination, balance, and spatial awareness.

Building Social Skills

Football is the number one, most played sport worldwide. It’s one of the most widely talked about, too. That immediately puts your child into one of the largest ever sporting communities to exist and provides them many opportunities to build friendships.

Even just joining our programs can help your children create friendships. And with our parent-toddler football sessions, it develops relationships at every level.

Team Skills

For children ages 2 to 4, playing a sport is an excellent method to begin learning the fundamentals of collaboration. Football particularly helps children learn the importance of cooperation, sharing, and working with other children and adults. Additionally, it teaches them how to be more selfless. These specific skills aren’t just transferable to other sports but other areas of life as they grow up.
