Football lessons for under 5s can give your child a positive introduction to so many aspects of life; a weekly routine, being part of a team, friendship and not to mention the wonderful world of football and exercise! Teaching children’s football in a non-pressured environment can introduce a heap of benefits for their personal development and so many other areas of their lives. Being part of #TeamOrange ignites an enthusiasm for football, and sport as a whole for our children. In this Kixx blog, we are going to explore the benefits of football lessons for under 5s.
How Are Football Lessons For Under 5s Beneficial?
Our future Lionel Messi’s and Mary Earps’ – the under 5s – can reap so many rewards from attending lessons at a football academy for kids. Let’s dive straight in!
Laughter and Friendship
Let’s kick this blog off with what we believe is one of, if not the most, important benefits of football lessons under 5s, and even for children who are older – having fun! Under 5 years old, children tend to be impressionable and develop an understanding of what they like to do, and who they like to do it with. At Kixx, we love seeing our superstars socialising with like minded young children, having lots of fun and most importantly making new friends.
Developing the social skills of a young child can be really important as they grow through their school years and even into adulthood. Making friends and having fun from such a young age instils the importance of a social circle and integrates your child into social settings from the word go.
Motor Skills
Football lessons for under 5s allow toddlers and young children to transform their wobbly steps into steady feet and skillful footwork. Learning football from such a young age can massively impact a child’s motor skills, improving their movement, balance and coordination.
Whether it be learning to kick, moving your body, or controlling a football, all of the skills that we teach at our football academy have huge benefits on children developing their gross motor skills.
Confidence Booster
A query that a lot of parents present to us is, “My child is shy, can they still attend football lessons?” Our answer… absolutely yes! Learning football and being surrounded by other children in the same class, going back to what we mentioned earlier, is massively beneficial for your child’s social development. When a young child makes friends, with that comes a boost of confidence.
Not only does this confidence come from the social aspect of football lessons for kids, but also, experiencing triumphs as both part of a team and individually, Mastering their own abilities, learning new skills and experiencing victories alongside their teammates can enormously benefit a child’s self confidence.
Teamwork
This leads us on nicely to the importance of teamwork. Being able to work as part of a team is an important attribute to have even as adults, so why not teach it to under 5s?
Teamwork makes the dream work, even for our smaller superstars. Football lessons for children teach toddlers and infants about collaboration and what it means to work towards the same goal.
Although they may not be scoring goals straight away, learning how to pass the ball to a buddy? That’s a great start!
