Creating A Positive Environment In A Football Academy

17th August 2023

In the world of children’s football, creating a positive and nurturing environment is important for growth and development. A football academy for kids plays an essential role in the shaping and encouraging of young superstars in so many ways. One of the most important elements of a football academy, we believe, is creating a positive atmosphere that not only enhances ability on the pitch but also shapes their character and looks after their overall wellbeing.

In this Kixx blog, we aim to explore the importance of creating a positive environment in a football academy, and how we go about doing it at #TeamOrange.

The Importance Of Creating A Positive Environment In A Football Academy

Creating a positive environment in a football academy holds significant importance for so many reasons.

An environment where children are encouraged to thrive can have a huge impact on their self esteem and confidence. When young players attend a football academy, especially Kixx, they feel valued, supported and encouraged to progress in the sport as well as nurture their personal development as they grow older.

When a child is filled with more confidence and more self esteem, generally speaking, they are more likely to try new things and take risks, facing challenges as opposed to shying away from developing skills. This is a really positive attribute when encouraging young athletes to develop.

Creating a positive environment in football classes for children allows them to overcome challenges and setbacks with resilience.

In a positive football academy environment, young players are encouraged to try new skills and tactics without fear of criticism. Being surrounded by like minded children of a similar age helps children make friends, encouraging one another to practice a growth mindset, where mistakes are seen as opportunities for improvement rather than failures.

Not only is creating a positive environment in a football academy important for children’s development but it can also be a crucial factor in a child feeling at home at the academy and wanting to return each week.  A positive environment in a football academy contributes to children staying at the same football academy for a long period of time. Players are more likely to remain committed to an academy where they feel valued and enjoy the overall experience.

How We Create A Positive Environment In Our Football Academy

At #TeamOrange we take pride in our football academy offering a positive environment for our children, parents and coaches.

How do we do it?

There are a number of factors that we prioritise in our classes to ensure each session offers a positive atmosphere. At the heart of our football academy are our coaching staff that understand the significance of creating a positive environment for the children. Our coaches don’t only focus on tactical and technical training but also act as role models to the children attending our football academy. Our coaches ensure that our children feel motivated to improve by creating a positive atmosphere in each session.

Although we teach our classes to groups of children, we equally nurture children on their individual growth. While the ultimate goal of a football academy is for children to have fun as part of a team and of course, help create fantastic footballers, at Kixx we take the pressure off the goal of winning and instead place our emphasis on children developing their characters, making friends and learning new skills – all contributing to their individual growth.

Celebrating personal achievements, no matter how small boosts self esteem and encourages players to embrace their journey.

Engaging parents and families in the academy’s activities can enhance the support system for our children. At Kixx, we work hard to ensure that parents are involved in what their children are doing in the football lessons and invited into the Kixx family. This involvement builds a bridge between the academy and the players’ lives, fostering a community feel to our football academy.

Ultimately, we believe that creating a positive environment for children comes down to having fun! The importance of having fun for children hosts the many benefits we have explored in this blog.
